Amber Royer

Founder & Executive Director

Amber is a passionate advocate for fentanyl awareness, harm reduction, and youth intervention. After losing her 18-year-old son, Richard, to fentanyl nearly four years ago, she turned her grief into action, founding Out of the Ashes Organization to educate and protect others from the dangers of illicit fentanyl. With over 20 years of nursing experience, Amber graduated magna cum laude and has since expanded her expertise to include national harm reduction certifications. She is also a certified grief coach and end-of-life doula, providing compassionate guidance to individuals and families facing loss and transition. Under her leadership, the organization has educated thousands of students, parents, and educators, empowering communities with life-saving information. Dedicated to prevention, advocacy, and support, Amber is committed to ensuring no other family endures the same loss.

Jordan Royer

Chief Financial Officer

Jordan Royer is the Chief Financial Officer bringing strong leadership, financial acumen, and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission. Graduating at the top of his class with honors in 2020, he has demonstrated exceptional work ethic and dedication from an early age. Since graduation, Jordan has continuously worked to build his career, becoming a sub- contractor at just 21. His entrepreneurial mindset, combined with his ability to connect with young people on their level, makes him a powerful advocate for fentanyl awareness and harm reduction. Beyond managing financial operations, Jordan plays an active role in presentations, events, and outreach efforts, working alongside his mother to educate and empower communities. His passion, drive, and ability to engage youth and young adults make him an invaluable leader within the organization.

Daisy Hendricks

Board Member - Secretary

Daisy Hendricks is a people person with a unique ability to relate to today's youth and young adults. As the Secretary for Out of the Ashes Organization, she plays a vital role in supporting the mission to spread fentanyl awareness and provide resources for harm reduction and intervention. Daisy’s genuine empathy and strong connection with her peers have made her a standout advocate for the cause.

Kenneth Royer

Board Member

Kenneth Royer is a dedicated professional with a strong background in public safety and business management. After graduating in 2010, he spent 10 years serving in public safety and six years in business management, developing leadership skills that drive his passion for community advocacy. With 14 years in recovery from substance use disorder, Kenneth is deeply committed to supporting others on their journeys to healing. His path has been one of resilience—after surviving a near-fatal traffic collision, he faced the immense challenge of relearning how to walk, further strengthening his determination and perspective on life. A devoted father of four, Kenneth finds his greatest joy in family. His dedication to service, recovery, and advocacy makes him a powerful voice in the fight against fentanyl and substance-related harm.

Dr. Pranav Barve

Board Memeber

Dr. Pranav Barve, MD, MPH, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care. He earned his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, and completed a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Barve pursued his Internal Medicine residency at Griffin Hospital, a Yale University affiliate, where he received accolades for his outstanding contributions. Since 2014, Dr. Barve has been serving the Southern California community, focusing on complex internal medicine cases, including cardiology, geriatrics, and oncology. He is multilingual, speaking English, Spanish, Hindi, Marathi, and French, and is known for his patient-centered approach. Outside of medicine, Dr. Barve enjoys chess, tennis, roller skating, and exploring history.

Glenn Scott, M.S.

Board Member

Glenn W. Scott was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1980. A devoted father of five—three boys and two girls—Glenn is passionate about giving back to his community. With a strong academic background, Glenn holds an associate's degree from San Bernardino Valley College, a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from the University of Redlands, and a master’s degree in information and library science from San Jose State University. He has dedicated 20 years to education as a teacher, inspiring students and fostering a love of learning. Outside of his professional life, Glenn is an avid reader, hiker, bike rider, and camper, always seeking opportunities to explore the outdoors and expand his horizons. As a Board Member for Out of the Ashes Organization, Glenn brings his wealth of knowledge, dedication to education, and commitment to service to help further the mission of harm reduction and fentanyl awareness.

Christian Thompson

Board Member

Christian Thompson is a dedicated advocate for community health, youth development, and education. In 2012, she successfully championed healthier school nutrition by securing salad bars in every school within the Hemet Unified School District. She also played a key role in advocating for policy changes at the state level, ensuring cheese sticks were classified as a side dish rather than a main course. Her efforts earned the district a $10,000 grant for nutrition improvements. A devoted mother of four, Christian has spent over 14 years coaching youth sports, shaping young athletes both on and off the field. As a military wife, she understands the importance of resilience, discipline, and service. Currently, she works in special operations for a bank in Hemet, bringing strategic problem-solving skills to every endeavor she undertakes. Her passion for advocacy, youth empowerment, and community well-being makes her an invaluable asset to the organization's mission.

Sharri Jacobs

Peer Support Outreach Volunteer

Sharri Jacobs knows firsthand the darkness of addiction. For years, she was trapped in a cycle of IV heroin use, street life, and exploitation, doing whatever it took to survive. Homeless and controlled by addiction, she experienced the harsh realities of life on the streets. But she fought her way out. Now sober, Sharri dedicates her life to helping others break free. As a peer support outreach volunteer, she meets people where they are, offering harm reduction resources, guidance, and hope. Her lived experience allows her to connect with those still struggling, showing them that recovery is possible and that they are never alone.

Mary Clarkson

Peer Support Specialist & Volunteer

Mary Clarkson is a dedicated Peer Support Specialist and volunteer with a passion for helping individuals navigate recovery and harm reduction. Born in 1982, she graduated high school in 2000 with honors and earned a scholarship to Mount San Jacinto College, where she studied early childhood development. At 21, Mary moved to Illinois and developed a deep commitment to working with special needs adults, building a meaningful career over nine years. Her journey has been shaped by personal loss—she lost her mother to opioid addiction and her father to heroin addiction, profoundly influencing her perspective on substance use and recovery. Following her mother’s passing, she struggled with alcohol use but found sobriety at 28 when she became pregnant with her first child. Now a proud mother of two, Mary is dedicated to supporting others in their recovery journeys. While she does not hold formal certifications, her lived experience, empathy, and commitment to harm reduction make her an invaluable part of Out of the Ashes Organization’s mission.

Kirk Fletcher

Peer-Led Outreach Volunteer

Kirk is a dedicated Peer-Led Outreach Volunteer with a passion for harm reduction and recovery support. With lived experience in substance use and the challenges of addiction, he brings a unique perspective and deep empathy to those struggling with similar battles. Having faced his own journey of recovery, Kirk understands the importance of second chances, community support, and harm reduction strategies. His goal is to connect with individuals in need, offering guidance, resources, and a message of hope. As part of Out of the Ashes Organization, Kirk works to educate and support others, using his personal experience to help individuals take steps toward safety, healing, and recovery. His commitment to outreach makes him a valuable part of the team and an inspiring advocate for change.
